![]() ![]() What is a Root Store?Īs discussed in a previous blog, a trust store or root store is a collection of root certificates that are trusted by default and maintained by the companies that make operating systems and web browsers, such as Apple, Microsoft, and Mozilla. This announcement constitutes a major change for the company’s browser, since up until now the Chrome browser has relied on the root stores of the underlying Operating System (OS). Google has recently announced a plan of creating their own TLS/SSL certificate root store for Chrome.
